Whitelist Your IP Address
By default, CloudProxy will restrict access to your admin pages (e.g. /wp-admin, /administrator or /admin) so that only authorized IP’s can login. That way, if your passwords are ever stolen or something similar happens, your site will still be safe.
To authorize IPs to login to your site, you will need to whitelist them in Sucuri’s system and if you are getting the following error when trying to access your site:
CloudProxy: IPB17: IP Address not white listed error
It means you need to whitelist your own IP.
Whitelisting IPs
Whitelisting IPs is very simple and there are two ways of doing this:
1) You can go to this page and white list your current IP address under the TRUSTED IP ADDRESSES section.
2) Or you can go to go to Sucuri’s API page:
And click on the Whitelist API link:
That will automatically whitelist your IP address. You can bookmark that link and share with other administrators of the site to allow them access. Any time they get blocked, all they need to do is click in there to allow them back in.
You can add subnets adding IP addresses using the CIDR (Classless Inter-Domain Routing) format, so 192.168.0.0/24 will block 192.168.0.1 thru 192.168.0.255.
This protection on /admin panels is enabled by default, but it can be disabled if you want. In order to do this, you can change the default option on the SECURITY tab and set the Admin Panel Restriction to open. That way, anyone can visit those pages without having to be whitelisted.
